What is freestyle skateboarding? (And why haven’t I heard about it?)

Freestyle skateboarding, the earliest form of competitive skating, showcases technical flatground tricks and fluidity to music. After a decline in the nineties, it has seen a revival with Japan as its capital. In Australia, it’s relatively underappreciated, but Flatlandia aims to change that.
