Queensland skateboarder David Mock explains the roots of freestyle skateboarding. He also details his passion project, All Terrain Skateboards, which made freestyle decks in the 1980s. Mock now focuses on refining classic tricks and moderating the local freestyle skateboarding group on Facebook. He believes the 80s cannot compare to today’s dynamic freestyle scene.

Interview with Rob ‘Wedge’ Francis: sketchy skate spots and freestyling in the seventies
A chill evening at the skate park, with the younger crowd gone and a crew of older skaters taking over. Three of us, Kyoko, Cheryl, and myself, try to perfect our moves. Wedge, a skating veteran, shares stories of the early skate days and shows off some freestyle skills. We reflect on the evolution of the sport and make plans for the next meet-up.
