Morgan Swaak loves freestyle skateboarding, especially after being inspired by his dad and iconic skaters like Per Welinder. Competing at this year’s World Freestyle Skateboarding Championships was an incredible experience for him, full of cool tricks and friendly vibes.

Josh Dunstone has been getting back into freestyle skateboarding, prepping for a competition in Germany. After focusing on mental health, he’s also been working on his physical fitness with a personal trainer. Living near Melbourne’s CBD has been great for skating inspiration, and he loves the creativity freestyle brings him.

Freestyle skateboarding first captured Simon Ingels’ attention via the Bones Brigade Video Show, featuring Per Welinder. Since then, they’ve been working on street and freestyle tricks. In Adelaide, Simon skates with a small group of friends, fostering motivation and inspiration.
Flatlandia: a year in review
In January 2024, Flatlandia launched to unite Australian freestyle skateboarders online. Over the year, networking events flourished, gear became more accessible through a new shop, and valuable content was shared to inspire and educate skaters. The community is growing, and there’s excitement for future collaborations and developments ahead.
